Credits –4 CR,Lecture [3.00],Laboratory [3.00] Prerequisites -RAD 180 Introduction to Radiography RAD 181 Radiography I RAD 182 Radiography Practicum I Co Requisites -RAD 276 Principles of Imaging Equipment RAD 282 Radiography Practicum II BIO 209 Anatomy and Physiology II Student Learning Objectives:As a result of meeting the requirements in this course,students will be able to: 1.Identify,explain,and discuss various positioning standards including anatomy and physiology. 2.Perform basic radiographic maneuvers including equipment set-up,patient transfer,and patient transport. 3.Educate a patient before a procedure on the risks and benefits of radiographic imaging. 4.Produce,evaluate,and discuss diagnostic medical images that are provided to physicians for diagnosis. 5.Demonstrate proficiency in patient care assessment in a simulated,laboratory environment and how to apply those skills in a clinical setting. Means of Assessment Students in this course will: 1.Complete two tests in addition to a midterm and final examination in class. 2.Demonstrate their understanding of material through discussion. 3.Participate in laboratory exercises that reinforce their knowledge of anatomy and positioning. Course Content Radiography II continues to introduce the student to the study of radiography and the ethical considerations of this medical field.The theory and application of positioning,radiation protection techniques,and radiographic exposure,along with associated image critiques and laboratory experiments are covered in this course.
