Particular attention is given to orthographic projection. Methods of visualization relating to auxiliary views, lines and planes, and points are explored in detail to help prepare students for advanced drafting and computer-aided design (CAD). This course utilizes SOLIDWORKS parametric design software to create parts, assemblies, and drawings. 3 credits; (2 lecture, 2 lab) Prerequisites: DFT-107 Drafting I Co-requisites: DFT-107 Drafting I Student Learning Outcomes: As a result of meeting the requirements in this course, students will be able to: 1. Implement drafting concepts and procedures of first and third angle projection. 2. Develop solid models for multiview projection. 3. Create three-dimensional (3D) solid models that capture design intent using parametric modeling. 4. Modify parameters on the part at different stages while maintaining other dimensions. 5. Construct assemblies and detailed drawings used to document 3D models, which drive their parametric relationships using SOLIDWORKS modeling tools. 2 Means of assessment: Weekly graded modeling assignments, midterm and final exam. Attendance Policy: BCC Attendance Policy: All students are expected to attend every scheduled meeting of each course in which they are registered. Course Attendance Policy: There is an attendance for Lecture at the beginning of the class, and an attendance for Lab within fifteen minutes of the end of class. Any combination of three or more absences from these attendances will result in the loss of the class participation portion of the course grade.
